David George Swenson, formerly of Goodhue, Minnesota, passed away on 9 August 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dave was 91 years old.
He was the son of Henry S. "Heinie" Swenson and Regina Kelly Swenson, born 8 December 1929. He was a graduate of Goodhue High School.
Dave served in the US Army as a Master Sergeant the Korean War. He was in charge of an aid station which treated numerous wounded soldiers. Among his military awards are the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Following his military service, Dave attended Michigan State University on the GI Bill, where he studied Hotel and Restaurant Management. Dave married Betty Fritz in 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio and they owned and ran a restaurant there for many years. Dave was also a very successful writer and public speaker. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, and his sister Eunice Bergren. He is survived by his sister, Marguerite Judge and many nieces and nephews.
