Earl F. Brafford Sr. devoted father of Earl (Dottie) Brafford Jr. of Loudon, Tennessee, Jeff (Angie) Brafford of Jupiter, Florida, Karen (Barry) Stoffberg of Knoxville, Tennessee. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Lois (Dale) Smyth of Miamitown, Ohio and Thomas (Patricia) Brafford of Hurricane, Utah. Earl was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Agnes Brafford. During his working years, Earl was a professional musician and music teacher. He had his own band, the Earl Brafford Combo for decades and taught the piano, guitar and accordion until his retirement in 1994. Earl battled type 1 diabetes since the age of 12, but kept active fishing and riding his bike. He kept his faith in Jesus and fought the good fight. In retirement, he delivered meals to shut-ins through his church and had a nursing home music ministry.
Earl passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at Fort Loudoun Medical Center, Lenoir City, Tennessee; he was 86 years old. Visitation Thursday, May 20th from 12:00pm until time of the Catholic Funeral Blessing at 1:00pm at Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home, 4164 W. 8th Street, Price Hill. Interment St. Joseph New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International Children's Fund, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80921.
