Edward D. and Karen A. (nee Roberto) Drifmeyer, married 51 years, passed away within moments of each other on Friday, December 6, 2024. Edward passed away at their residence at age 76 and Karen at the Christ Hospital Hospice at age 71; both had endured long illnesses.
Edward and Karen are survived by their children, Danielle (Adam) Baker and Dawn (Donald) Bauer, both of Cincinnati, their grandchildren Autumn, Cody (Kaila), Amber, Brandon, Alyssa and great-grandchildren Rylee, Lydiah, Hayden, Marzia, Alastair and Eli. Edward is also survived by a brother, Butch (Lynne) Drifmeyer of Fairfield, Ohio. Karen is also survived by her mother, Betty (nee Weber) Nash of Cincinnati, Ohio, a brother, Anthony (Peggy) Roberto of Fairfield, Ohio and sisters, JoAnn (Michael) Aslone of Georgia and Leslie Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio. Preceding them in death are children James and Tracie Drifmeyer, Edward’s brothers William and Robert Drifmeyer and his parents, William Roy Drifmeyer and Ruth Virginia (nee Gardner) Drifmeyer and Karen’s father, Joseph Roberto.
Edward served in the US Army in 1967-1969 including in country in Vietnam. During his working years, he was a self-employed mechanic. Karen retired in 2019 from Cincinnati Public Schools where she had been employed for 38 years as a teacher’s aide.
Edward and Karen will be laid to rest together at Dayton National Cemetery. Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home serving the family.
