Floren ‘Elaine’ Dickerson (nee Bailey), beloved wife for 46 years of the late B. Eugene ‘Gene’ Dickerson. Devoted mother of David, Donald (Barbara), Dale (Kim) and Douglas (Shelagh Larkin) Dickerson and Joyce (Guy Pope) Sorrell, all of Cincinnati, Dennis (Sherry) Dickerson of Lebanon, Ohio, Beverly (Tom) Tocash of Sunbury, Ohio and Darleen (Lonnie) Higgins of Fountain, Colorado. Loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late John Jr. and Walter Bailey, Emma Jane Purvis and Mary Leuderalbert. Also preceded in death by her parents, John and Ailene Bailey.
Elaine attended school in North Vernon, Indiana. She retired after being with the Internal Revenue Service for over 20 years.
Elaine loved celebrating holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. in the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed visiting relatives across the country and even overseas, visiting her daughter in Germany and her son in Ghana and Madagascar. Taking full advantage of her final years at Northgate Park, she participated in all manner of events: cards, bingo, horse racing and happy hours and was loved by residents and staff alike.
She passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 after a brief illness; Elaine was 89 years old.
