George R. Jones Jr.

George Raymond Jones Jr., beloved husband of Denise M. Emmett.  Loving father of Greg E. (Christine) of Seymour, Indiana and Jennifer A. (Joe) Rump and Jessica N. (Eric) Scott, both of Cincinnati.  Loving grandfather of Caleb, Allison, Alexis, Brody, Bentley, Brendan, Audriana and Grayson.  Dear brother and best friend of the late Rick (JoAnn) Jones.  Preceded in death by his parents, George R. Jones Sr. and Mary Lou (nee McMurtry) Baker.

George was a 1970 graduate of Western Hills High School and he served in the US Army in Vietnam.  During his working years, George was employed with the Cincinnati Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff Office, Cincinnati Milacron and Consolidated Freight Company, retiring in 2002. In retirement, George ran the Checkered Flag Collectible Store, bought and sold collector cars and enjoyed time with family and friends. George will be remembered for his grilling expertise especially chicken!, for his extensive life experience, knowledge of automobiles and motorcycles, his quick and funny sense of humor and his love of family.

George passed away at Christ Hospital on Monday, September 23, after a long illness; he was 72 years old.
