Irving R. Smith

Irving Reed Smith, beloved husband of the late Rita Faye (nee Whittymore) Smith. Devoted father of Robert M. (Toni) Smith of Harrison, Ohio, Michael A. (Leann) Smith of Springfield, Missouri, Christina Gray of Cincinnati, Ohio and the late Judy Hensley. Loving grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jack Smith and Jacqueline Smith, both of Cincinnati and the late Steven, David, Lawrence, Jerry and Paula Smith. Caring son of the late Irving R. Smith Sr. and Anna Marie (nee Phillips) Smith.

Irving served in Vietnam in the US Army. While in Vietnam, Irving was with the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Hue and Quang Tri Province. He received the Bronze Star, Air Medal and 2 Purple Hearts.

During his working years, Irving worked for Standard Publishing and also as a motel manager. Irving passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, September 18, 2021; he was 71 years old.

Visitation Monday, September 27, 2021 12PM-1:30PM at Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home, 4164 W. 8th Street, Price Hill.  Funeral service to follow at 1:30pm.  Entombment with military honors, St. Joseph New Cemetery.
