Obituary
Jerome K. ‘Jerry’ Hicks, beloved husband for 55 years of Josephine R. (nee Schweighardt) Hicks. Devoted father of Jerome (Kathy), Joshua (Niki Iacobucci), Joseph (Sheila), Jacob (Sarah) and Justin (Katrina) Hicks, all of Cincinnati. Loving grandfather of 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Herbert Hicks of Zanesville, OH, Raymond Hicks and Joyce Maco, both of Goshen, OH, Donna Hicks of Blanchester, OH, Darlene Kieffer of Sardinia, OH and the late James and Jana Hicks. Also preceded in death by his parents, James and Lavina (nee Donohoo) Hicks.
Jerry attended Sardinia High School and the University of Cincinnati and served in the US Army and US Air Force. He was employed by the City of Cincinnati for 25+ years as an Electrician, retiring in 1998. He passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 13, 2023, after a brief illness; Jerry was 85 years old.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 20, 2023, 10:30AM, Holy Family Church, 814 Hawthorne Avenue, Price Hill. Visitation in church one hour prior to the Mass. Entombment St. Joseph Old Cemetery Mausoleum.
Jerry’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Holy Family Food Pantry, c/o Holy Family Church or to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 1520 Queen City Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45214. Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home serving the family.
