Joyce Schmid

Mary ‘Joyce’ Schmid (nee Gartner), beloved wife for 36 years of the late Robert A. Schmid.  Devoted mother of Vincent Schmid of Centerville, Ohio, Cynthia (Don) Driehaus, Sheila Humbert and Amy Schmid, all of Cincinnati and Michele (Richard) Sulfsted of Loveland, Ohio.  Loving grandmother of Donny, Danielle, Marcy and Rose Driehaus, Caitlin and Matthew Schmid, Megan, Emma and Andrew Sulfsted, Abigail (Ryan) Goldbach, Ethen (Jordan) Humbert, Madeline Shannon, Sam (Suzi) Humbert and 5 great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of the late June Betsch and an infant brother. Also preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Irene Gartner.

Joyce enjoyed the simple things in life; praying the rosary, Bingo, watching her favorite shows on TV and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of her favorite memories included the Ugly Christmas sweater party with her family and dancing with the grandchildren. She loved seeing her grandchildren perform in musicals and concerts. Joyce could never pass up a White Castle slider, cold Coke or a Powerball ticket.

Joyce was a 1949 graduate of Ursuline Academy, attended Edgecliff College and she was a homemaker.  Joyce passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023; she was 92 years old.

Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, November 16, 11:00AM in the Chapel at Ohio Living Llanfair, 1701 Llanfair Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224.  Visitation in the Chapel one hour prior to the Mass.  Interment St. Mary Cemetery in St. Bernard.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Llanfair, 1701 Llanfair Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224.
