Mary Katherine Ginn Theobald, age 87 of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022. The daughter of Elmer and Mary (Weidner) Ginn and stepdaughter of Elizabeth (Naber) Ginn. Mary was born on November 10, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
On March 13, 1953, she married the love of her life, George J. Theobald and went on to have 12 children in his childhood home. They were married for 41 years until his sudden death at age sixty-one. During her working years, Mary worked for the Cincinnati Board of Education as an Auxiliary Clerk and retired after twenty-five years. She made many friends, and was extremely proud of making a difference in the schools that she worked.
She was a member of St. William Church and after her retirement she enjoyed her lifelong friends, volunteering with seniors and her large family. Mary will be remembered for her work ethic, devotion to her husband, family and faith, vivaciousness, and ability to make friends wherever she went. Everyone felt welcome and loved in her home; a home away from home, even when it was a mad house. She always had a warm smile and hug to give. No doubt she has a front row seat in heaven.
Mary was the devoted mother of Stephen (Carol) Theobald, George Theobald Jr., Lynne Theobald, David Theobald, Lisa (Norm) Allaby, Joe Theobald, Theresa (Mike) Thomas, Mary (Tom) Hellmann, Jerry (Kathy) Theobald, Chris (Stephanie) Theobald, Jennifer (Boyd) Collett and Becky McCormick. Loving grandmother of 28 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Peggy Friedman, Betty Landess, Steve Ginn, Mark Ginn all of FL and Terry Ginn of NC.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald Ginn, and Michael Ginn, who was KIA in Vietnam and her grandchildren George IV and Jessica.
