Nicholas O. Van Kalker

Nicholas O. Van Kalker, beloved husband for 44 years of Elizabeth G. (nee Harrison) Van Kalker.  Devoted father of Mindy E. (the late Josh) Robertson and Nikki A. (Aaron) Van Kalker, both of Cincinnati and Heather M. (James) Noel of Frankfort, Kentucky.  Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren.  Dear brother of Ronald Van Kalker of New Richmond, Ohio and the late Peggy Zigelmier.  Also survived by his aunt Karen Manszewski and his cousin Jennifer Behrens, both of Wyoming, Michigan. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Dolores M. Van Kalker.

Nicholas was a 1976 graduate of Western Hills High School and was employed by U.S. Protection as a security guard.
Nicholas passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2022; he was 64 years old.  Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Memorial donations may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark, Suite 3550, Chicago, Illinois 60601.  Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home serving the family.

Nick was truly one of a kind.  the perfect combination of fearless and selfless and fiercely protective of those he loved.  This included first, his wife Liz, of 44 years.  His three daughters he would do anything for and finally, his seven grandbabies.  For his family, Nick would stop at nothing to make sure they were taken care of.  Nick also had several passions in life including bourbon, cigars, and surprising his friends and family with Halloween masks.  But most of all, Nick loved riding his bikes, Lulu and Lucille with his partner Liz.
