Stephen H. Laird

Stephen H. Laird, beloved husband for 56 years of Nancy M. (nee Gugel) Laird.  Devoted father of Stephen J. (Mary) Laird and Shannon M. (Greg) Faeth, both of Cincinnati.  Loving grandfather of Spencer, Noah, Shelby, Trevor and Olivia and great-grandfather to Harlow.  Dear brother of Sam (Tom) Heyob and Sally (the late Robert) Elliott, Nancy (Sam) Harbors and the late Ed ‘Cork’ Laird.  Steve also leaves behind  multiple sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law. Also preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene (nee Herron) Laird. Steve was the loving “Poppie” to many nieces, nephews and family friends. 

Steve attended Oak Hills High School and during his working years, he was a self-employed flooring installer. He retired in 2015 after 40+ years in the flooring business. Steve was an active volunteer in the community for several organizations. He will be greatly missed. 

Steve passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati at Twin Towers, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, after a 10 month battle with cancer; he was 79 years old.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, 2:00PM-5:00PM at Jim & Jack’s on the River, 3456 River Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45204 after a private service for the family.
