William Maxwell, passed away peacefully July 27, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born April 13th, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Price Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie (Miller) Maxwell, his brother Jack Maxwell (Mary) and his sisters Patricia (Eugene) Bender and Kay (Joseph) Gormley, nephews Robert Maxwell and Jeffrey Bender, and niece Jean Maxwell. He is survived by nieces Carol Maxwell, Marian Maxwell Magelitz, Laura Maxwell, and Michelle (Matthew) Bender and nephews John (Linda) Maxwell, Harry (Chris) Bender, Mark (Valerie) Bender, David (Adele) Gormley and many great nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the 101st Airborne Division and afterwards was a graphic artist and illustrator, sometimes working in advertising agencies and occasionally modeling agencies but spent the majority of his career as a free-lance artist. His illustrations and artwork were used by Kenner, Shillitos, Proctor & Gamble, and many more and printed in many magazines and newspapers both here and in New York City where he lived for several years. Art was his passion where he transferred the images he observed or created in his thoughts to paper and canvas and he was truly a gifted person.
Uncle Bill maintained a special relationship with all his nieces and nephews and they got to enjoy much of his life’s works, stories, and his experiences during their visits with him.
