Patricia A. 'Pat' Schloemer

Pat Schloemer (nee Delany) passed away on March 13, 2024, age 94 years,10 months. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald (Slim) R. Schloemer for 45 years. Cherished daughter of the late Lucile Iliff Delany and Daniel Delany, Sr.  Loving mother of Daniel R. Schloemer (Diana), Ann Manley (Clifford), Mary Krummen (Richard), Donald J. Schloemer, and Michael P. Schloemer (the late Michael D. Gillispie). The loving grandmother of Daniel (Danny) R. Schloemer II (Jessica), Matthew August Schloemer (April), Erin Ohler (Jarrod), the late Jennifer Manley, Elizabeth Manley, Melissa Manley, Rich Krummen, Krista Stenger (John), Sara Gehring (Chuck), David Schloemer, and Nick Schloemer. Proud and blessed great grandmother eighteen great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Daniel Delany, Jr. (Doris).

Pat was born on May 13, 1929, and baptized at Holy Cross Church in Mount Adams. She attended St. Mark’s School and graduated from Ursaline Academy in 1947. Somehow her husband, she called him her best friend, lured her from the east side of Cincinnati to Price Hill where they raised five children and became members of St. William’s Church parish. Pat was a member of the parish for more than seven decades. She served as president of the PTA, as a member of the bereavement team for many years and was St. William School’s librarian for 25 years.

Pat was an Associate of  the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati for 44 years, making her initial commitment on May 30, 1979, and her lifetime commitment on September 7, 2013. In an interview with the Sisters of Charity Intercom Pat said, “I know the Lord led me to this relationship with the Community. I have known the support of the many friends I have made and have felt the power of their prayers offered for me and my family.  My prayer is ‘thank-you!’” She will be remembered for her love of family, her wisdom, humor, and generous spirit. And, Pat loved her morning coffee, she took it black!

The family wishes to thank the associates of Bayley Senior Care and Hospice of Cincinnati for the compassionate care they provided for our Mom.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Pat’s honor may be made to St. William Church, 4108 W. 8th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205; Associates of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, 5900 Delhi Road, Mount Saint Joseph, Ohio 45051; or the charity of one’s choice. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, March 18, 5:00PM, St. William Church, 4108 W. 8th Street, Price Hill. Visitation in church, 3:00PM until the time of the Mass.
